                      The Rick Savage Jazz 4Tet

                      Picture
Jazz trumpeter Rick Savage has made his mark on the NYC area jazz scene, recording & performing with the likes of Tania Maria, Gerry Mulligan, Tony Bennett, Jack McDuff, Nestor Torres, Nancy Wilson, Mark Egan and others. Recently a surprise encounter with drum legend Eliot Zigmund has hatched an inspiring chemistry between the two & bred the “Rick Savage 4tet”, a regular attraction in the ongoing Friday jazz series at the Dautaj Restaurant, 36 Oakland Ave, in Warwick NY.

“A friend hired me to play jazz at a NYC party. I arrived at the gig, & was excited to recognize Eliot Zigmund on drums, from the legendary jazz pianist, Bill Evan’s trio.
We had a ball playing that night & that has continued whenever we play!” says Savage.

Rounding out the Rick Savage 4Tet are Zen Zadravec, piano, a natural innovator and leader himself, he runs three of his own bands: the Zen Zadravec Quartet (straight ahead Jazz), Human Revolution (Jazz Fusion), and Ritmo Y Corazon-Rhythm of the Heart (Latin/Cuban Jazz). And David Kingsnorth, bass, is known for his stellar work with guitarist Rick Stone & pianist Ted Kooshian. We occasionally joined by the talented LUCI YEGHIAZARYAN on vocals.
